26 Aug '07 - 430 W - + 20 - 6 We've been a bit remiss

So it seems that we haven't been posting enough to the blog or the photo gallery.  So, let's see if I can catch everyone up as best I can.

We went to Maine a few weeks back to visit my parents for a long weekend.  We all had a good time.  Alex got to sleep in a big bed for the first time, and he did a real good job at it, after the first night, when he fell out onto the floor.  We had a little kiddie pool on the dock that Alex swam in mostly, although he did go into the lake a few times with me.  We caught various fish and crayfish to put into the pool to swim with Alex, and he had a blast with that.  Jack was passed around a bit, and he seemed to enjoy it.

The photos from that trip are posted here:  http://www.thenortonzoo.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=7610

We went to Pennsylvania to visit Kari's parents and Tash and Don.  Pappy Jack and Deb threw a pig roast, and we all had a good time there.  Alex accidentally fell head first into their swimming pool, but he fell right into my arms (I was already in the pool), so there was no danger.  After a little bit of sputtering, he was ready to go back in.  Jack was passed around a bit, and he seemed to enjoy it.

The photos from that trip (along with some other photos) are posted here in the summer of 2007 gallery: http://www.thenortonzoo.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=7478&g2_page=5

Alex had his birthday party this weekend.  We had a bunch of people over, and had a firefighter/firetruck theme.  We had a couple of inflatible pools for the kids and some of the adults.  It was ~90 ºF, and freakin' humid, so they really enjoyed it.  Bill and Abby brought over a couple of tents for shade and to play in.  Alex enjoyed running in his swimmy diaper from the pool to dig in the dirt, and back again, seeing just how dirty he could get.  Jack was passed around a bit, and he seemed to enjoy it.

The photos from the party are posted here:  http://www.thenortonzoo.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=7725

Whew!  Let's hope we don't let this lack of blogging build up on us for this long again.

Both Jack and Alex really do seem to enjoy these good times.
I loved all the pictures. Thank you for posting them!
(I’m going to steal the pic of Dan holding Alex as he blows out the candles.)
