So it happened again a few days ago. I should point out that this was the third bath in a row that Jack pooped in. After that, Alex decided that he didn't want to bring any toys in the tub, because he didn't want to risk them getting dirty. The second time that this happened, we weren't able to get the toys out in time, and they needed to be bleached, which was rather traumatic for him. On the evening of the next bath, we noticed that Jack had not "done the deed' yet when it came time for the bath. So, we were pretty worried. Alex was worried too, and understandebly so. He wanted Jack to go in his diaper before the bath, so he started yelling "poop! poooooop! poop!" at him. He then realized he should take a less veiled approach and started grunting and groaning, and pretending to poop, to make sure that Jack got the message. But, thankfully, before the bath rolled around, he had pooped, and we had an experience that can only be summed up with some traditional wisdom found on the walls of bathroom stalls,

A few days ago, Jack decided to start pooping in the tub while sharing a bath with Alex. I saw the face, and my mind raced. The best solution I could come up with was to get out the seat to go on the toilet, and get him out and wait for him to do his business. Unfortunately, the delay in getting out the seat was too much, and it forced the evacuation of the tub. I did get him out of the water before the deed happened, but there was an impressive splash. Tonight, he started to make the poopy face again. I decided to not make the same mistake twice. However, Jack apparently learned his lesson too, and didn't dawdle. He accomplished his task before I could get him up. This resulted in a very messy bath. I'm not sure what the best way to prevent this from happening again, but I guess I need to be on my toes....
