We had a nice evening tonight, watching the Superbowl. I did my best to explain to Alex this morning how to play football, using his cars and a ball as visual aids. He seemed to grasp the basics, but things like downs and the like were a bit above his understanding. We made some nachos and wings, which went over well. Alex had his Cars Movie going on a little portable DVD player to watch whenever things got too boring for him. Even Jack sat in his Bumbo seat and watched the game for a bit. We all had a pretty good time.
This morning, we gave Alex one of the Play Doh Fun Factory things. It's basically a Play Doh extruder. Man, did that go over well. He sat and played with that for hours today! That was $5 well spent. With the exception of naps, meals, a trip to the grocery store, and the Superbowl, that was what he did today. He kept saying, "I really like this toy Dad", and "This machine is my favorite!" over and over again.
He happily told Kari the other day that he had given Kujo a haircut. Kari went out to find Kujo sitting happily, with tufts of fur laying about around him. She wasn't able to locate a definitive place that he had cut hair from, but that could have gone much worse. That seems like something that we'll try and avoid having happen in the future.
