+ 0 - 0 | § ¶Dropping Trou and Terrycloths
We all went to an indoor water park yesterday as part of a Niskayuna Moms Group outing. It was really cool. They had three separate pools, with all sorts of fun things. They had two water slides, one big, and one huge. They had all sorts of fountains, and things that would splash you periodically. They even had an oval track pool that had a current to it that would keep spinning you around a 100 ft course. When we were there, Alex kept dropping trou at a moment's notice. I'd say things like, "It's time to go change into our swimsuits now", and I'd head off towards the changing room. I'd turn back, and there would be Alex, naked from the waist down, and I'd have to quick get him decent again. This happened several times for several reasons, and was rather funny.
Jack has been addicted to terrycloths. Either it's sucking on his washcloth in the bath, or the towel afterwards, or chewing on the wash cloths that Kari uses while feeding him, but it seems that every time you turn around, he's got something like that in his mouth.
+ 0 - 0 | § ¶Butter-ific milestone
It's official. Jack is now heavier than our cat Butter. For those of you who have been to our house, you know that Butter is our big white behemoth of a kitty cat. She probably weighs about 17 lbs. Jack went to the doctor for his 6-month (already??) checkup yesterday, and he was 20 lbs, 2oz. For a point of reference, Alex passed Butter only shortly before his first birthday. Jack is still in the 90th percentile for height (27.5"), weight, and head size. He's sticking with his "Tank" alias.
Everything else is going okay. We're settling back into our routine after the holidays. Jack has been a little sick, which was only made worse by his four immunizations from yesterday. I think he got a little sore, so he's been a little grumpy (still not much compared to some other kids), and a bit sleepy. I like the sleepy part. He's slept through the night about 5 times in the last week and a half. Woo hoo!! Alex went back to school today (also woo hoo!), and loved every minute, and Dan is back to saving the world one train engine at a time.
+ 0 - 0 | § ¶Feeling better, and pictures
It looks like Alex is feeling a bit better. His fever went away yesterday, and he's been much more energetic. When he was sick, all he wanted to do was sleep, but now he's up and around as much as usual. We even went outside today and made a snowman. We just had some freshly fallen snow from last night, and it was just the right consistency to make snowballs and snowmen. There are some pictures available in the photo gallery at:
http://www.thenortonzoo.com/gallery in the end of the Christmas 2007 gallery. Speaking of which, there are pictures from the rest of Christmas in there too.
Jack's been doing mostly well, as well. He keeps getting what might be the start of a cold, but it also might be the start of teething. With these things, it's hard to tell sometimes.
