I've also put up some pictures that we've had on our camera for a month or two prior to Jack's birth.

Oh, and did I mention that he came home this afternoon? That means that Jack spent approximately one third the number of hours that Alex spend as days in the hospital before getting to come home. It's a completely different experience this time around, and it's been really a pleasant experience so far. Jack seems to be falling into a comfortable pattern of eating and sleeping. No tubes!
+ 0 - 0 | § ¶Announcing Jack Xavier Norton
This morning at 3:54 AM, we welcomed Jack Xavier Norton into this world. He was born weighing 8 lbs, 8 ounces, and was 21 inches long. Both he and his mother are fine and recouperating at the hospital.
The labor was quite quick. Kari woke up around 1:15, and her water broke. Her contractions were 7 minutes apart. After we called the doctor, and got our stuff together to leave at 2:00, they were 2 minutes apart. We barely managed to Kari into the car at that point, because she wasn't cooperating completely. After the threat of dragging her out, she agreed to go out of her own accord. When we arrived at the hospital, I went in and got them to bring a wheelchair out for Kari. We got upstairs, and she was 7 cm dilated. A few minutes later, she was at 8 cm. They got the epidural in by 3:00, and right after that was in, she was at 10 cm. A few pushes and some time later (notice how I minimize this part), we had ourselves a brand new boy! I managed to maintain consiousness and help out to the best of my abilities during the entire process, which, although was far easier than Kari's job, I found it difficult enough.
The camera is still at the hospital, so I don't have many pictures at the moment, but the one picture that I did get from Grandma Judy's camera is available at:
