We got a bit of snow today. As of about 8:30 this evening, we were up to 19-1/2 inches, with it still coming down. It seems to be slowing down a bit, so I imagine by morning we should be just shy of two feet. I am going to be very sore in the next few days. I'm glad though that I decided to take the multiple small shovelings approach. I shoveled 6 times over the day, to try and avoid killing my back. Well, seven times, if you count the time when it was only 1/2 an inch, but that doesn't really count.
We are so getting a snow blower.

We had our 18-week ultrasound this morning, and guess what. I'm going to be seriously outnumbered come July. Little Farquar II showed off his assests quite frequently, making the u/s tech tell him that she's already seen it, and that we should all move on. (In case you're still lost, it's a boy.) All else looked pretty good, though that's coming from the tech and she's isn't allowed to diagnose anything. The baby is the correct size (about 8 oz.), has a visible stomach (which Alex never had), and a four-chamber heart. All of my blood tests have also been good news. There have been no abnormalities in the triple screen test (for spinal defects), the down's syndrome tests, or any of my tests. My next big test is in two weeks; we will be seeing a fetal medicine specialist for a more in-depth ultrasound. About 9 or 10 days after that, we will be having a fetal echo with a cardiologist to look at his heart.
We're gearing up for our big adventure now...we leave for Malta on Friday. I've been going out and getting some new toys for Alex to play with on the plane and in the hotel. So far, we've gotten markers, glue, paper, train cars, etc. Hopefully, it will all keep him occupied. I'm actually starting to look forward to going now. Dan's parents were very nice and called the hotel to see if they had any suites available. Now Alex can have a separate place to sleep while one of us is in the room. That really took a load off my mind I think.
Anyway, we'll post pictures later of the little show-off (and his little brother perhaps). I'm pretty excited right now...we're finally going to get some snow up here. Since we moved, we haven't gotten nearly as much as we got in PA and haven't seen any of the dire predictions everyone made. Tonight, we're expecting at least a foot!! (I know...I'm only excited because I can stay home.)
