A couple of days ago, Alex ran into the unfinished half of the basement, without any shoes on. About 15 feet into the basement, he realized that the basement floor was cold, and didn't want to stand on it anymore, so he got up on his tippy toes, and refused to step further on, and stood there, until I picked him up and rescued him.
This evening, I put a pair of pants on him that were a bit too large for him. He was walking around the house, having his pants drop down, and he kept pulling them back up. I'm sure that it doesn't make a very funny blog entry, but it was a pretty cute sight.

We had a great weekend here at the Norton household. We spent Saturday cleaning, which doesn't sound like fun, but I finally have a clean house, so it's worth it to me! On Sunday, we had a little BBQ with some friends. Dan invited a man that he knew from work, his wife, and their three month old son. We also invited a neighboring family with their two kids (2.75, and 14 months). We had lots of great food, including some lettuce from my very own garden, and just had a great time hanging out outside.
Alex has been doing really well lately. He had a cardiology checkup this morning. So far, all still looks good, though the jury is still out on whether or not his pulmonary artery is growing the way they had hoped. The doc wasn't worried, though, and thinks that if needed eventually, the narrowing could probably be opened up during a catherterization, rather than surgery. Alex was great for the echo...Dan packed the Madagascar DVD for us to take along, and the Radiologist was thoroughly impressed that we had brought our own entertainment. (He's the one who provided the advice to do so, though it was a year ago that he gave it.) Alex just sat on my lap and watched the movie while the doctor did his work. I was so proud! He even let the cardiologist listen to his heart in the exam room. That makes two doctors (total!) now that have been able to listen to Alex without him screaming. In any case, he doesn't need to go back for another checkup for a year!!
