Since Alex has been getting much more mobile lately, he's been getting up during his naps, and standing, and going back down, and going to sleep. The thing though, is that either he doesn't know how to, or doesn't like lying down on his back. This ends means that he ends up going back to sleep on his stomach, but the thing is he sleeps with his face down on the mattress, and sort of kneeling with his butt in the air. It's terribly cute.Alex has been eating a whole lot of new stuff lately. We may have posted recently about him eating fried tofu with terriaki sauce, but he's also expanded his library of foods to include yogurt of various flavors, whole green beens, tuna salad, chicken salad, bisquits, spaghettios, pancakes, pasta, strawberries, bagels, nilla wafers, and a bunch of other stuff. He's been eating a bunch more lately in terms of quantity too. On many occasions, he's eaten as much as 4 oz of food at a meal! Now we need to work on upping his fluid intake.

Literally. Two steps forward. ALEX TOOK HIS FIRST STEPS!!!!!!!His PT was here this morning, and his entire group of Early Intervention people (OT, PT, EI Coordinator, Nurse, Dietician) were here for a lunchtime evaluation, and boy did Alex show off! He started by standing on his own for a long time with Ginny this morning, something he's been doing a little of, but not too much. Then, she brought out a toy that he likes and he took a couple of steps to get to her and the toy. Then, at lunch, with everyone there, he was seriously flaunting this newfound ability. He took at least four steps once, and was just the cutest little man he could be.
So, he's now going down to PT once per week, and we're going to start weaning his night feeds a bit to see if we can increase his eating even more. And you'd better believe that Dan and I are going to testing this walking thing as much as possible!
Oh, and Aunt Abby...guess whose very colorful outfit Alex was wearing for the very first time for his very first steps?
