+ 0 - 0 | § ¶towards and away
Up until now, it seems that everything Alex has done has had the purpose of getting things towards him. The basic plan for anything is grab and put it in his mouth. This worked for toys, paper, cats, you name it. Now we have added another interesting twist to things: the concept of getting things away from him. This now works for toys, which he is getting rather good at tossing across the room. He's taken to spitting, in thbbbbbtt style, which is terribly cute. Plus, as an added bonus, while we're feeding him, he now knows how to knock the spoon away in a violent fashion. Sometimes, this occurs when he's fed up with eating, and somtimes it seems as if his mouth and arms are in a bit of disagreement as well, as the mouth is open, waiting for the spoon, but the arms are flailing, trying to repel the invading spoon.+ 0 - 0 | § ¶Rollover!
And we have a rollover! Alex has finally learned how to get himself from his tummy to his back!Yesterday, we took him to a game farm in Catskill, NY. They have an area where there are a bunch of deer that run around loose so that people can pet and feed them, and Alex thought it was hilarious when they accosted me to get at the food. He also really likes ducks for some reason. Other than that, he didn't seem to have much of an opinion, but Dan and I had fun.

He is now 14 lbs, 14 oz! He's gained 10 lbs since birth...yay!Things have been going pretty well lately. We've seen Alex's new Physical and Occupational therapists a few times since my last posting. His PT is impressed with Alex because he isn't as far behind as a lot of kids with his problems. He has learned to sit up on his own, and can do it for 10 minutes or so at a time (if he wants to). Tummy time is going better...he's starting to push up with his arms a bit, which is the goal. As far as OT (eating), he's doing pretty well there too. He's continued to eat about 2 to 2 1/2 ounces of baby food per day.
That's about it for now. Still no teeth, still takes most of his food by tube, and hasn't graduated from medical school yet. That about sums it up!
