Kari, Alex, Angie (Kari's sister), and I went up to Niskayuna last weekend to go househunting. We looked at a bunch of houses, and we placed an offer, and it was accepted on a nice little house in a nice little neighborhood of Niskayuna. It's a house, about the same size that we have now, except that it has a partially furnished basement. Assuming that all of the tests go well, I will have a 4 mile commute to work, which blows my mind, as it is about 1/10 of what I have now. Now we get to undertake the complicated process of buying a house in New York, in addition to selling this house, in addition to all the other things that we have been doing. Well, at least we won't be getting bored any time soon! I will put up some pictures of the house on http://thenortonzoo.com/gallery in a bit, when I get a chance.Alex went to the feeding clinic for the first time today. He was evaluated by occupational and physical therapists to determine the best course of action to get him feeding "normally". It felt kinda wierd, being surrounded by 5 people, staring at us, telling us to go ahead and try feeding him. It felt kinda like a test of Kari and I, in addition to Alex. They told us what everyone else has been telling us, that Alex is doing well, considering his condition, because he doesn't appear to have an oral aversion, and he is ok with having things in his face, but that he doesn't have the "skills" necessary to suck and swallow food well. We need to work on these skills to hone them.
